1. Decide the relative importance of each of the following for your institution:
a. Letting visitors explore your artefacts up close using 3D scans.
b. Letting visitors explore 3D prints of your artefacts.
c. Engaging visitors through personal storytelling.
d. Building an archive of community-generated stories.
2. Think about the target demographic:
a. VR headsets are generally too large and heavy for small children (roughly under age 10) to use comfortably. There is also some research indicating that long-term use of VR may be detrimental to children (though VRtefacts’s level of exposure falls radically below ‘long-term use’).
b. Because visitors do not move through the space, they do not seem to suffer from VR nausea, though that is always a potential risk.
