VRtefacts, Virtual Reality storytelling for museums

What it is

VRtefacts is a museum-focused virtual reality (VR) experience designed to heighten a visitor’s sense of connection and engagement with items from the collection, ending with visitors donating a personal story around that object.

See the About and How It Works pages for more detail, and blog posts to see how it’s being implemented.

VRtefacts was developed within the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 727040, GIFT: Meaningful Personalization of Hybrid Virtual Museum Experiences Through Gifting and Appropriation.

See the project’s homepage for more information about the other work we’ve been doing.

VRtefacts is a flexible concept. The project can be reworked in any number of ways to suit different needs. Contact jocelyn.spence [at] nottingham.ac.uk if you have any questions – we are always happy to explore new ways to develop it!
